Senior Java Engineer – DbVis Software

Since 2003, our mission has been to create the best database tools on the planet. Our product is used by companies and developers worldwide, with over 30,000 customers in 150 countries, 7 million downloads, and users including NASA, Apple, Uber, and Netflix.

DbVisualizer is engineered using Java, and we are currently enhancing and expanding the product by adding server-side features, real-time collaboration, AI capabilities, and a cloud journey among others. The details are still evolving, and perhaps you could be a part of shaping them?

About the role

We are looking to expand our core development team with a talented Java Engineer. You’ll be surrounded by a senior team, the product and code of high quality. 

Our team works with multi-disciplinary roles where each engineer gets to own and participate in the full lifecycle of new features. This means analyzing, architecting, designing, coding, testing, shipping and supporting our new features – so we take full responsibility for the quality, as this is how we differentiate.

In this role, you will also engage directly with our users to understand how they use the product, help solve their challenges, and identify areas for improvement.

• Develop and maintain DbVisualizer, a state-of-the-art database tool trusted by engineers all over the world

About you

To succeed in this role we think you are a senior Java Engineer with a knack for customer solutions. You have worked with both desktop and web applications, and have experience in building frameworks, working with various database engines, application features, APIs and user interfaces.

You are self-driven, motivated, eager to take responsibility and unafraid of technical challenges while thriving on discussing high-level programming concepts with your colleagues. Your ideas and contributions will not only be acknowledged – but celebrated.

You also bring:

• Exceptional skills in Java
• Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience in desktop and web applications

It’s a plus if you have

• Experience with JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js 
• Experience with Cloud services and architecture
• Experience with open source projects
