Data Architect

About the Role 

We are seeking a skilled Data Architect to join our team as we make significant investments in our analytics platform. In this role, you will be at the forefront of transforming our data landscape, guiding the creation of domain-specific datasets that are scalable, performant, and highly usable for business needs. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing our data infrastructure and ensuring that our analytics capabilities meet the demands of a dynamic business environment. 

In addition to technical expertise, we value strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to various roles and responsibilities within the Verdane team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data models to support business decision-making, ensuring scalability, performance, and usability
• Provide expertise in data modelling and analytics, guiding team members in developing domain-specific datasets
• Work with various data types, including financial, HR, deal processes, fund data and operational benchmarks 
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers and stakeholders from different departments 
• Optimise existing data models to meet evolving business requirements and use cases 
• Define and promote best practice standards across the team, ensuring good data quality and a reliable source of truth for the organisation

About You

For this role, we are looking for someone who is organized and process-oriented with a natural ability to pay attention to detail. You have a genuine interest in data-driven decision-making and how insights can drive value across the organization. Your strong analytical skills and solid judgment enable you to make decisions rooted in both business insights and common sense.

Desired skills: 

• Strong understanding of business analytics needs and the ability to translate them into technical solutions
• Proven experience in data modelling, business intelligence, and analytics 
• Strong understanding of analytics best practices and star schema design 
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on data quality 
• Previous experience in a similar role within a business analytics environment
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and business intelligence tools. 
• Strong knowledge of SQL and other data manipulation languages.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, industrial economics, finance or business analytics
